Overlapping Leaves Baby Blanket


This leaves pattern is beautiful for baby blankets! We knitted and sold most in white or grey but also one very sunny blanket in yellow. My mum knitted the pictured blanket and it is from organic cotton and it is very soft. If you would like to have it please visit our Etsy shop here.

Alternatevley you could use the directions below to knit it. Our blanket is with measurments approximately 85cm by 60cm and it is knitted with 4mm needles.

Abbreviations:
K = Knit
P = Purl
Yo = Yarn over
SSK = Slip slip knit
K2tog = Knit 2 stitches together

The border pattern is worked as follows:
Row 1: (right side) Knit all stitches
Row 2: K1 (edge), K1, *slip 1 purlwise (yarn at back), K1*; repeat from * to * to the last stitch, K1 (edge).
Row 3: (right side) Knit all stitches
Row 4: K1 (edge), slip 1 purlwise (yarn at back), *K1, slip 1 purlwise (yarn at back)*; repeat from * to * to last stitch, K1 (edge).

Row 2: P2, K13;
Row 3: P2, K10, K2tog, Yo, K1;
Row 4: P2, K9, K2tog, K2, Yo;
Row 5: P2, K8, K2tog, K1, Yo, K2;

Row 7: P2, K6, K2tog, K2, Yo, K3;
Row 8: P2, K5, K2tog, K4, Yo, K2;
Row 9: P2, K4, K2tog, K3, Yo, K4;
Row 10: P2, K3, K2tog, K5, Yo, K3;
Row 11: P2, K13;
Row 12: P2, K13;
Row 13: P2, K1, Yo, SSK, K10;

Apple leaves Baby Blanket - Lacy Knitting Pattern

Below is the knitting pattern for this lovely blanket. Measurements: The blanket is 83cm long and 62cm wide and we used a combination of two types of lacy stitches.  Materials: This blanket is knitted with around 250 gr of fine 100% merino yarn Drops Design Baby Merino Needles: 3.5cm cable needles Abbreviations P  =   Purl K  =  Knit yo = yarn over SKP = slip, knit, pass the slipped stitch over. This is a left-leaning decrease. If you are more used to SSK (slip, slip, knit), just substitute the SKP with the SSK. The effect will be the same.
