Basic crochet gloves in UK and US crochet terms

Last week I crochet fingerless mittens with hearts for my 4 years old daughter but she really wanted proper gloves and I made these. They are very easy and suitable for beginners. I used 100% wool yarn and 4mm hook. I would suggest to measure the wrist and crochet the size needed and to do the same with the length of the glove. The pattern for my 4 years old daughter written in UK (US) crochet terms Cuffs are worked in rows: Ch 21 Row 1: dc (sc) in in the second chain from the hook then work dc (sc) in the rest of the stitches. Turn. Row 2 to Row 12: Ch1, dc (sc) in the back loop. The cuff I crochet in the desired length looked like this before I folded it (this picture is from my heart mittens but the technique is the same): Next I folded and attached together the short sides first. Once that done, I folded along the long side and ended up it nice, soft, fluffy cuffs like the one on the picture below. Then I crochet dc (sc) all around (24 stitches in tota

Apple leaves Baby Blanket - Lacy Knitting Pattern

Below is the knitting pattern for this lovely blanket. You could also order to be knitted for you from the  Messy Yarn shop . Measurements: The blanket is 83cm long and 62cm wide and we used a combination of two types of lacy stitches.  Materials: This blanket is knitted with around 250 gr of fine 100% merino yarn Drops Design Baby Merino Needles: 3.5cm cable needles Abbreviations P  =   Purl K  =  Knit yo = yarn over SKP = slip, knit, pass the slipped stitch over. This is a left-leaning decrease. If you are more used to SSK (slip, slip, knit), just substitute the SKP with the SSK. The effect will be the same. K2 tog = Knit 2 together The Pattern Cast on 166sts on circular needles 3 1/2mm Row 1 to row 6: Purl all sts Row 7 (RS): P5, K2; [skp, K3, (yo, skp) twice, yo, K1, (yo, K2 together) twice, yo, K3, K2 together]. Repeat 8 times from [ to ]. Finish the row K2, P5. Row 8: Purl all sts, including the increases. Repeat row 7 and row 8 three times.  Row 15 : P5

Textured Pixie Hat Crochet Pattern

Ribbed Pixie Bonnet pattern I absolutely love the pixie bonnets and just got around to crochet one. My idea was the bonnet to be like a garden, with some flowers on the sides and the green representing the grass but then I liked it the way it is and decided to leave the flowers for another project. The pattern is extra easy and beginner's friendly. Below is a sizing chart which is roughly accurate. I am providing a link to the UK-WHO growth charts - 0-4 years in case you would like to be more precise. The pattern is worked from back to front. Ch 52 (or as many chains as needed until the string is the size of the depth you desire when folded in half). The size of my bonnet is 3-6 months and unfolded it is approximately 30 cm. Row 1: Sc in the second chain from the hook, then work HDC until the end. Turn. Row 2: Ch 1, HDC in the back bar (yellow coloured on the picture below) of each of the HDC from the previous row. Turn. Row 3: Ch 1, HDC in each stitch f

The first one is finished. Is is very easy, beginner's friendly project and the gloves can be crochet very quickly. Pattern: Yarn: Merino wool 50g Hook: 3.5mm Size: To fit 4-5 years old The gloves are worked in the round with exception of the top, around the wrist part. To connect every row I am using  the technique outlined here  so that the seam is not so visible. Around the wrist part. Ch17 or as many stitches as you like depending how high you would like that piece to be. Note that we will fold it in half. Row 1: Single crochet in the second st from the hook and then sc in all stitches to the end. Turn Row 2: Ch1, sc in the back loop of all 16 st to the end of the row. Rep
