Textured Pixie Hat Crochet Pattern


Ribbed Pixie Bonnet pattern




I absolutely love the pixie bonnets and just got around to crochet one. My idea was the bonnet to be like a garden, with some flowers on the sides and the green representing the grass but then I liked it the way it is and decided to leave the flowers for another project.

The pattern is extra easy and beginner's friendly. Below is a sizing chart which is roughly accurate. I am providing a link to the UK-WHO growth charts - 0-4 years in case you would like to be more precise.

The pattern is worked from back to front.
Ch 52 (or as many chains as needed until the string is the size of the depth you desire when folded in half). The size of my bonnet is 3-6 months and unfolded it is approximately 30 cm.

Row 1: Sc in the second chain from the hook, then work HDC until the end. Turn.

Row 2: Ch 1, HDC in the back bar (yellow coloured on the picture below) of each of the HDC from the previous row. Turn.



Row 3: Ch 1, HDC in each stitch from the row below. Turn.

Continue to work row 2-3 until you get the desired depth.

Once the piece is with measurements of your choice, fold it in two and sew down the back. Then work single crochet all around and make some shells at the front. The ties I have chosen for mine are plaits from the same yarn as this was the easiest and quickest I could think of :-)
