Floral Openwork Baby Blanket Pattern

PDF version for this pattern is available at the Messy Yarn Etsy shop.

Tension/Gauge Stocking Stitch tension 10cm/4 inches = 24 stitches 10cm/4 inches = 44 rows

Size: Width: approximately 80 cm

Length: approximately 90 cm

Materials: 3.5mm (US4) circular needles I used Gazzal Organic baby cotton white (400gr).

Stitch abbreviations (you can find description with pictures for some of the stitches at the end of the pattern)

P = Purl

K = Knit

yo = yarn over

SSK = Slip, slip, knit. This is a left-leaning decrease. If you are more used to SKP (slip, knit, pass the slipped stitch over), just substitute the SSK with the SKP. The effect will be the same.

K2tog = Knit 2 together

s2kpo = Slip 2 sts together knitwise, knit 1, then pass the 2 slipped stitches over the knit stitch (this gives centred double decrease).

Adjusting the size of the blanket

Should you like to knit a larger size, you could add a figure by adding 12 stitches. Please remember to increase the repeats on each row with the number of the figures you added. For example, if only one figure is added, then a repeat of 12 will become 13, etc.

For example, if you want 5 repeats, multiply 17 by 5 (which gives 85 stitches), then add 3 more stitches, bringing you to a total of 88. If you plan to add a wide border, simply increase the number of stitches evenly on both sides to your liking. For example, the blanket shown h...
