Stitch abbreviations

P = Purl

K = Knit

yo = yarn over

SSK = Slip, slip, knit. This is a left-leaning decrease. If you are more used to SKP (slip, knit, pass the slipped stitch over), just substitute the SSK with the SKP. The effect will be the same.

sts = stitches

Adjusting the size of the blanket

If you want to knit a larger size, add 12 stitches for each extra pattern repeat. Remember to increase the repeat count on every row accordingly. For example, if you add one extra pattern repeat, increase a repeat count of 14 to 15.

The Pattern starts from here

Row 1 to row 18: Purl all sts

Row 19 (RS): p9, k182, p9.

Row 20: Purl all sts.

Row 28: Purl all sts.

Row 29: p9; k1; [k8; ssk; yo; k2]. Repeat another 14 times from [ to ], k1; p9.

Row 30: Purl all sts.

Row 32: Purl all sts.

Row 34: Purl all sts.

Row 35: p9; k182; p9.

Row 36: Purl all sts.

Repeat Row 23 to Row 36 another twenty times. This is the end of the main body part.

To complete the blanket, purl 18 rows.

Wave in the ends. Wash gently and dry flat. With this, the blanket is complete.

SSK (Slip, Slip, Knit) – left-leaning decrease

1.    Transfer the first stitch knitwise to the right needle

2.    Transfer the second stitch knitwise to the right needle

3.    Move them both back to the left needle

4.    Insert the right needle through both stitches from the back of the left, then yarn over and knit.

      You will now have a single stitch on the right needle instead of 2.

*** This pattern is a property of Messy Yarn patterns. Please do not modify, resell or share this pattern. You can sell finished items made from it, but please mention that the item is made using a Messy Yarn pattern . *** Join me on Facebook,  I would love to see your work! Enjoy crocheting this blanket! Pattern notes PDF version , should you wish to purchase one is available from the Etsy site . Please note that the measurements are approximate. The actual length and width will depend on your tension which might be different than mine and the type of yarn used. Note 1: If you want to crochet a different number of repeats, remember that each wave requires 17 stitches, plus 3 additional stitches at the end. For example, if you want 5 repeats, multiply 17 by 5 (which gives 85 stitches), then add 3 more stitches, bringing you to a total of 88. If you plan to add a wide border, simply increase the number of stitches evenly on both sides to your liking. For example, the blanket shown h...

Ribbed Stitch Crochet Pattern - Faux Knit Look

Abbreviations UK terms (US terms): dc = double crochet (sc = single crochet) trc = treble crochet (dc = double crochet)   Pattern The pattern is UK terms and US terms in the brackets. I hope that helps. To start, crochet a chain with any number of stitches. Row 1: Ch 3, then work 1 trc (1 dc) in every stitch to the end. Row 2: ch1, dc (sc) in the back bar of each trc (dc) from Row 1.  [The back bar is where the hook is inserted on the picture on the left. Working like this, will create knit like stitch on the front side.]   Row 3 : Ch3 then crochet 1 trc (1 dc) in the back loop of every dc (sc) from Row 2. Ch1, turn.
